The Olive tree : a wonder of nature

Majestic symbol of the Mediterranean, the olive tree have shaped civilizations as far as we can go back in time.
Nowadays, in more northern countries, the blue-grey leaves and unusual trunk are often more appreciated for their decorative element than fruit trees
…and picking olives that have ripened in the Parisian sun can be an enjoyable & original experience !

Olive trees are strong, hardy and although resistant to low temperatures do require some winter protection in northern climates. They are easy to maintain and we actually see more and more of them in the public and private gardens. An olive tree can also be grown as a potted tree on a roof garden or a balcony.

Regarded as a symbol of purification, victory and honour by the ancient Greeks, the olive tree has been used for centuries to honour wisdom, peace and longevity.
These majestic trees can survive for thousand of years, and some species, still alive today, go back as far as Roman civilization.

Today, we see them as a symbol of peace and beauty.
